Poolside Punch is anything but your everyday Colombian coffee. Grown by third-generation producer Jairo Arcila at Santa Monica in Quindío, this Castillo lot starts with only the ripest cherries before undergoing a 48-hour dry anaerobic fermentation with fresh watermelon added directly to the tanks. The coffee is then pulped, thoroughly washed and carefully dried for 10 days, creating an incredibly vibrant and fruit-forward cup. Expect juicy watermelon and refreshing lime up front, followed by a subtle minty finish and smooth chocolate sweetness. Bright, playful and seriously refreshing, exactly what the name suggests.
Jairo has been growing coffee since purchasing his first farm in 1987 and now owns six farms across Colombia. With the support of his sons, Carlos and Felipe (co-founders of Cofinet) he has become known for producing distinctive specialty coffees and experimenting with exceptional varieties and processing techniques.
