Established in 2014, the Halo Beriti Washing Station works with 750 smallholder producers who grow coffee on small plots alongside other crops. Throughout harvest, farmers deliver freshly picked coffee cherries to the station, where they are carefully sorted and processed.
This particular lot underwent a special preparation, with repeated hand-sorting throughout the receiving and drying process to ensure only the highest-quality cherries made the final selection. Farmers in this region typically grow coffee without the use of fertilizers or pesticides, relying instead on traditional smallholder farming practices.
The result is a meticulously selected Ethiopian coffee that showcases the care taken at every stage from the individual farms through to the final sorting and preparation at Halo Beriti.
